Ok so lets put a little twist on your regular Turkey Burgers
3-4 patties
Ingredients for Burger Patties
1lb of Lean Turkey ground (personally I like the ones that don't come in a tube. It holds the burger shape a lot better without having to use bread crumbs or eggs.)
1tbsp of McCormick Chipotle and Garlic Seasoning (you can add more to taste if you would like but you don't want to over power the taste of the turkey.)
1 cup of Spinach (chopped)
3/4 cup Onion (finely chopped)
Mix all ingredients together and make 6oz patties. In a frying pan with some extra virgin olive oil cook patties to 160 degrees, this will keep the meat from drying up too much and will keep it nice and moist. It will go up to 165 with 5 minute rest. If you don't want to cook them in a pan you can always bake them in the oven. Just brush a little olive oil on the patty to get that nice crust.
Ingredients for dressing
1 ripped Avocado
1 cup of Fresh Cilantro
1 clove of garlic
1/2 Cup of Plain Low Fat Greek yogurt
1 1/2 Tbsp of lime juice (you can add more if you would like but careful its easy to go to the sour side.)
Salt and Pepper to taste ( I like my dressing with some spice so I usually add 1 Green Jalapeño pepper without the seeds.)
Put all ingredients into a blender, blend until it has a nice smooth consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Preparing bowl
add 4 cups of fresh spinach, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, 1 chopped avocado, chopped burger patty, give it a toss and its ready to serve. It should give you about 3 to 4 servings. Add dressing individually to each serving according to your own like.
TIPS:
1. When chopping up the Onions you want them a bit smaller then all your other ingredients, you don't want the onions over powering the taste of your bowl.
2. Pay attention to the burger temp, biggest mistake and why it dries up its because of over cooking.
3. If you happen to add too much lime or its too sour for you just add a little more Greek yogurt to balance it out.
4. If you like to have spicy food and want to add a twist to your burger add some jalapeño peppers finely chopped no seeds to your patty mix for a little more kick.
